  • ½ cup mini chocolate chips
  • Red food coloring (a few drops)
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream (for topping)
  • ½ cup light corn syrup (for glass rims)
  • Red gel food coloring (for glass rims)
  • 1 tbsp fine granulated sugar (for whipped cream)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine heavy whipping cream, vanilla extract, and sugar. Use an electric mixer until stiff peaks form; set aside.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine whole milk, heavy cream, vanilla extract, chopped white chocolate, and mini chocolate chips over medium-low heat. Stir until melted and simmering; avoid boiling.
  3. Add red food coloring to achieve desired hue.
  4. Pour into mugs and top generously with whipped cream.
  5. In a small saucepan, combine light corn syrup, water, and fine granulated sugar. Heat on medium without stirring until the mixture reaches 300°F (hard crack stage).
  6. Remove from heat and stir in red gel food coloring. Quickly dip clean glass rims into the mixture to coat them.
