  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1 (14 oz) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup coconut milk
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 tbsp oil for searing
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1 tbsp melted butter (for cooking)
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely minced

Instructions

  1. In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat oil over medium-high heat. Sear beef cubes until browned on all sides; set aside.
  2. Sauté chopped onion until translucent, then add minced garlic and grated ginger until fragrant.
  3. Stir in curry powder, cumin, coriander, cayenne pepper (if using), cinnamon, and turmeric.
  4. Add crushed tomatoes, beef broth, coconut milk, and tomato paste; mix well.
  5. Return seared beef to the pot, season with salt and pepper, bring to a simmer, cover, and cook on low for 3-4 hours until tender.
  6. For naan: Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, yogurt, and warm milk in a bowl; knead until smooth and let rest.
  7. Roll dough into circles; cook in a skillet with melted butter for about 2 minutes on each side while adding minced garlic.
