Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • ½ Head Cabbage (chopped)
  • 1 Tbsp Sesame Oil
  • 8 Cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 Tbsp Ginger (minced)
  • 2 Tbsp Brown Sugar Swerve
  • ½ Cup Soy Sauce (low-sodium)
  • ¼ Cup Hoisin Sauce
  • 1 Cup Beef Broth
  • 3 Tsp Cornstarch
  • ½ Tsp Red Pepper Flakes
  • ⅓ Cup Green Onions (diced)
  • 1 Tbsp Sesame Seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Chop cabbage into bite-sized pieces and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat sesame oil over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart for even cooking (about 5-7 minutes). Drain excess fat if needed.
  3. Push beef to one side; add garlic and ginger to the center of the skillet. Cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Stir in chopped cabbage and red pepper flakes, cooking until cabbage softens (about 5 minutes).
  5. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, hoisin sauce, and brown sugar Swerve.
  6. In another bowl, combine cornstarch with beef broth to create a slurry. Stir this into the sauce mixture.
  7. Pour the sauce over beef and cabbage, stirring well to coat. Cook until thickened (about 2-3 minutes).
  8. Stir in diced green onions and cook for another minute before serving.
