  • 8 sheets of phyllo dough
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup semolina flour
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup honey, warmed
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds, toasted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Layer one sheet of phyllo in the prepared dish, brush generously with melted butter, and repeat with six more sheets.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together semolina flour, eggs, sugar, milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until smooth. Pour over the phyllo base.
  4. Place the remaining phyllo sheet on top, brushing each layer with melted butter. Score the top lightly with a knife.
  5. Bake for 40–45 minutes until golden brown. Let cool for about 10 minutes before drizzling warm honey and sprinkling sesame seeds on top.
  6. Slice into squares and serve warm or at room temperature.
