Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup warmed whole milk
  • 1 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 3/4 cup diced fresh strawberries
  • 1/2 cup strawberry preserves
  • 2 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 3 tbsp whole milk
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Warm the milk to between 105°F and 110°F. Combine it with active dry yeast in a mixing bowl; let it sit until frothy (about 5 minutes).
  2. Add granulated sugar, flour, softened butter, salt, and egg to the bowl. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead on a floured surface for 5–7 minutes until smooth; place in a greased bowl to rise for about an hour.
  4. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread strawberry preserves evenly over it; sprinkle with diced strawberries.
  5. Roll tightly into a log and slice into equal pieces. Arrange on a greased baking sheet and bake for about 25 minutes until golden brown.
  6. For the glaze, beat cream cheese and butter until smooth; gradually add confectioners' sugar, then mix in whole milk and vanilla extract to achieve desired consistency.
  7. Drizzle glaze over warm rolls before serving.
