  • 1 cup warm water or warm milk
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 7 tablespoons salted butter (room temperature)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese (room temperature)
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a stand mixer bowl with a dough hook, combine flour, yeast, and salt. Add warm water or milk, honey, and 1 tablespoon butter. Knead until smooth.
  2. Allow the dough to rise covered in a warm area for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
  3. Preheat your oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  4. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread with butter, sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar mixture, fold in half, cut into strips, twist into knots, and place on the baking sheet.
  5. Melt remaining butter with brown sugar and cinnamon; spoon over knots.
  6. Bake for about 16–20 minutes until golden brown.
  7. For glaze: mix powdered sugar with cream cheese and vanilla; drizzle over warm knots.
