  • 3 pounds sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 small sweet onion, thinly sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup unsalted beef stock or broth
  • 1 ounce au jus gravy mix (1 packet)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, thinly sliced
  • Fresh chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season the steak pieces with kosher salt and black pepper in a large bowl.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and sear half of the seasoned steak until browned on all sides; remove and repeat with remaining steak.
  3. Transfer all seared steak to a Crockpot.
  4. Add sliced sweet onion and garlic to the Crockpot and toss gently with the steak.
  5. Pour unsalted beef stock over everything and sprinkle the au jus mix evenly on top.
  6. Lay slices of unsalted butter over the mixture.
  7. Cook on HIGH for 3–4 hours or LOW for 6–8 hours until steak is tender.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
