  • 26 ounces frozen beef meatballs
  • 2 cups low-sodium beef broth
  • 1 ounce brown gravy mix
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoon white apple vinegar
  • ¼ cup water
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1½ cups grated gruyere cheese

Instructions

  1. Place sliced onions in the bottom of a 6-quart crock pot and layer frozen meatballs on top.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine beef broth, gravy mix, minced garlic, black pepper, dried thyme, and vinegar. Whisk until smooth and pour over the meatballs.
  3. Cover and cook on high for 2½-3½ hours or low for 5-6 hours.
  4. To thicken the sauce, whisk cornstarch with water until smooth, then stir into the crock pot.
  5. Top with grated cheese and cook for an additional ten minutes until melted. Serve over rice or potatoes.
