  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup hot coffee (or boiling water)
  • 6 ounces chocolate pudding mix
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1½ cups unsalted butter
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 6 cups powdered sugar
  • ⅔ cup milk (add more if needed)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 26 Oreo cookies, crushed into crumbs
  • 10 ounces pectin-based gummy candies

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and spray a 9×13 baking pan.
  2. In a stand mixer, combine sugar, flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla; add to dry ingredients and mix until combined.
  4. Stir in hot coffee by hand carefully.
  5. Pour batter into the pan and bake for 30–35 minutes; let cool completely.
  6. Prepare pudding by whisking pudding mix with milk; spread over cooled cake and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  7. For frosting: melt butter and whisk in cocoa; combine with powdered sugar and milk until smooth.
  8. Spread frosting over pudding layer; top with crushed Oreos and gummy candies.
