  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp apple vinegar (or dry apple juice)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 medium yellow onions (sliced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
  • 1/4 cup beef broth or water
  • 1/2 tsp sugar

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, cornstarch, apple vinegar (or juice), and sesame oil. Add sliced beef and marinate for 15 minutes.
  2. Heat a wok over medium-high heat and add vegetable oil.
  3. Stir-fry marinated beef until browned (3-4 minutes). Remove from pan.
  4. In the same wok, sauté sliced onions for about 2 minutes. Add minced garlic and grated ginger; cook until fragrant.
  5. Return the beef to the pan with any remaining marinade and pour in broth. Sprinkle sugar and stir well.
  6. Cook together for another 2-3 minutes until heated through.
