  • 1 lb broccoli (cut into bite-sized pieces)
  • 5 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1/2 tablespoon ginger (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon apple vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon light soy sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoons light soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons dark soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup low sodium chicken broth
  • 1/2 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil

Instructions

  1. Marinate the flank steak with baking soda, vinegar, light soy sauce, oyster sauce, white pepper, water, and cornstarch for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Combine ingredients for the stir-fry sauce in a small bowl and set aside.
  3. Blanch broccoli in boiling salted water for 1-2 minutes; drain.
  4. In a hot wok or skillet, sear the marinated beef until browned; remove from pan.
  5. Stir-fry garlic and ginger, add broccoli, then return beef to the pan along with the sauce. Toss until coated and heated through.
  6. Finish with sesame oil and serve immediately.
