  • 1 vanilla cake mix (prepared and cubed)
  • 4 cups milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 6 tbsp corn starch
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 3 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 4 cups fresh strawberries (chopped)
  • 4 cups fresh pineapple (chopped)
  • 4 bananas (sliced)
  • 23 cups prepared whipped topping
  • 810 cherries (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the vanilla cake mix according to package directions and let it cool completely before cubing it into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a saucepan, whisk together milk, sugar, corn starch, salt, and vanilla over medium heat until thickened. Remove from heat and stir in butter until melted. Allow to cool slightly.
  3. Chop strawberries and pineapple while slicing bananas just before assembly.
  4. In your trifle bowl or Mason jars, layer cake cubes, pudding, chopped strawberries, sliced bananas, and whipped topping repeatedly until all ingredients are used up. Finish with whipped topping and garnish with cherries.
